2040: Women, power & the future of work presented by Spence Club Inc

Imagine the year 2040.

Flying cars might still be some years away – but driverless cars are not. Will this allow women to complete necessary professional tasks during their daily commute, reducing out-of-hours work and ensuring they can be completely focused on their personal and family life post-5pm?

Have robots assumed the majority of mundane administrative tasks both in the workplace and at home? Has the topic of gender quotas been permanently shelved, as merit and education turn the tables organically? Will social media create a generation of introverts who know more about personal branding than traditional social and professional skills?

Anything is possible – and the future is near.

Today, the statistics about women in the workplace are alarming: women earn 16.2 per cent less than men (ABS May 2016), 1 in 4 workplaces have no women in management (Workplace Gender Equality Agency 2015), 1 in 10 ASX 2000 listed companies do not have a woman on their board. Can – and will – this change by 2040? 

Join Spence Club Inc for our annual Q&A event with a diverse panel of South Australian leaders. This event will raise money for Endometriosis Australia; endometriosis is the most aggressive benign and debilitating disease facing Australian women today.
