Adelaide Town Hall Open Day
One of the city's most iconic public buildings, the Adelaide Town Hall is opening its doors to the public on Sunday 8 October.
Visitors will get a rare opportunity for a behind-the-scenes look at the Town Hall and learn about its rich political and architectural history.
Town Hall is home to some significant artworks and historical documents such as a bust of Queen Adelaide, the Beatles installation on the balcony that celebrates the incredible turnout during their visit to Adelaide in 1964, a fascinating archives display, and of course the $1.3 million Walker & Sons Organ in the main auditorium.
Activities on the day will include bellringing demonstrations, performances by the City of Adelaide band, tours of the Lord Mayor's office (conducted by the LM himself), and appearances by a traditional Town Crier.
For younger visitors, a range of kids' activities and a photo booth have been organised.
