Dr Xiang Ren is a researcher and experienced publisher, working on the digital and open transformation of publishing and knowledge systems. He currently holds a position of postdoctoral research fellow in the Australia-China Institute for Arts and Culture at Western Sydney University, where he conducts research on digital communications and Chinese cultures. His research interests also include open and disruptive innovations, digital media globalisation, and China's cultural and creative industries. He is an active advocate of open access and digital publishing innovation and has led and participated in many research and innovation projects in these fields in Australia and China.
