As a co-designer at TACSI, Ryan is working to build the innovation capacity of a range of organisations within government and the social sector. Having worked on several of TACSI’s projects in families, ageing and strategy development, he now teaches others how to better understand the needs of their customers, stakeholders and citizens using co-design – and create better programs and policy as a result. Prior to TACSI, Ryan's work ranges from a tech startup in London to helping global non-profit Ashoka pilot a program accelerating social innovation in US cities. Other projects include a stove for rural Guatemalan families, a product to reduce HIV transmission in Africa, and an SMS platform to connect patients to care providers. Ryan studied systems engineering at a startup engineering school in Boston and was later part of the founding graduate class at the Austin Centre for Design, studying interaction design and social entrepreneurship.
