Jaye Tucker has a passion for Portfolio Management and Continuous Improvement. Utilising these skills and focusing on delivery she fundamentally understands the impact this has on a positive work culture and achieving the strategic objectives of the business.
Jaye is the PMO Manager Defence for Babcock Pty Ltd and has worked for Babcock for 14 years. She is responsible for the ongoing development of the Project/Program Management function within the business and has set up a Portfolio Management Office from first principles. Jaye continues to deliver and mould the vision of the PMO to ensure integration with Babcock’s strategic business goals.
Her core PMO mission is to provide a capability and platform that will support the achievement of operational, tactical and strategic business objectives. The key focus areas of which are:
- Project Management Operational Methodologies and Standardisations
- Portfolio Assessment, Governance and Control
- Ongoing Development of a value driven Project Management Capability
- Program Lifecycle Management – Cradle to the Grave approach offering Bid Management Services through to Final Customer Delivery
- Innovation, Continuous Improvement and Change Management Solutions
- Lessons Learnt Implementations – not simply Lessons identified
Jaye completed her Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Adelaide in 2015. She has recently completed the AIPM Certified Practicing Project Executive Accreditation and had previously completed the Certified Practicing Project Director program. She has substantial experience in lean management principles, workplace training and assessment and is involved in mentoring programs within the Defence Industry and private sectors.
While Jaye has a passion for business it is clear this is driven by her passion for family. She has a husband (David) and two children; Jackson and Jordy. While there are times when being a working wife and mother can be challenging Jaye not only continues to illustrate an ability to achieve the aim even when faced with difficult circumstances but also live by the following moto: “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass it’s about learning to dance in the rain."
