Denise Lawungkurr Goodfellow did her Ph.D. on American couples who travel internationally to watch birds, at Southern Cross University, Lismore, NSW.

In 2000 she helped Aboriginal relatives start a little tourism project in western Arnhem Land (the Baby Dreaming Project). She is interested in exploring facets of the sharing economy demonstrated by Aboriginal people and also birdwatchers who travel to remote areas.
