Beyond the Vote Showcase. Democratic Innovation in Australia

25 October

Venue: South Australian Museum – Pacific Cultures Gallery

Is voting enough to ensure a vibrant democracy? In this showcase, leading scholars and practitioners will talk about new approaches to bringing citizens’ voices to political decision-making. From broad overviews of developments in Australia and the UK, to specific cases of deliberative democracy, co-design and grass-roots democratic movements, you’ll get a taste of the cutting edge of democratic innovation. A series of short, sharp presentations will be followed by a Q&A.
